Notes from/about the Distillery:
"100 proof. Bottled in Bond. Limited release. Small batch Wheated Bourbon. E.H. Taylor Seasoned Wood was a planned one-time release. The first wheated bourbon Buffalo Trace released under the E.H. Taylor brand. As the name Seasoned Wood implies the wood for the barrels used to age this small batch bourbon underwent a variety of special seasoning processes including utilizing staves that were immersed in an enzyme-rich bath with water heated to 100 degrees. These staves were then placed into kilns and dried until they reached an ideal humidity level for crafting into barrels. The purpose for Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley taking the extra effort of seasoning these barrels was to create a much different tasting wheated Bourbon then consumers are used to from Buffalo Trace. Aged for 10+ years inside century old warehouses constructed by E.H. Taylor Jr. Barrels are evaluated and selected to create a perfect blend of distinctive character that is like no other."
